Yankees Clear Space On 40-Man By Dealing Harvey To Rockies
The Yankees made a small deal at the trade deadline, sending reliever Joe Harvey to the Rockies in exchange for lefthander Alfredo Garcia. The move clears a spot on the Yankees’ crowded 40-man roster, which was full.

Joe Harvey, RHP
Age: 27
Harvey was part of the Yankees’ cadre of relievers on the Scranton-New York shuttle. He was drafted in the 19th round in 2014 out of Pittsburgh and made his big league debut on April 10. He operates with a mid-90s fastball and a high-80s slider.

Alfredo Garcia, LHP
Age: 20
Garcia’s numbers aren’t great this year, but scouts who have seen him note a low-90s fastball that tops out at 95 and is complemented by a mid-80s changeup and a low-70s curveball. He gets rise and run on his fastball and lots of swings and misses on his offspeed pitches.
