The Fredericksburg Nationals shut out the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, 3-0, on Wednesday, earning Washington’s Single-A affiliate its first Carolina League title since the team’s relatively recent move to Fredericksburg in 2021. More importantly, it was the Nationals’ first MiLB league title at any level in a decade.
Led by five shutout innings by Travis Sykora and a triple from Elijah Green, the FredNats are the first Nationals team to win a MiLB league championship since the Potomac Nationals (the predecessor of the FredNats) won the High-A Carolina League title in 2014.
That means that the Cincinnati Reds are now in sole possession of the longest title drought in MiLB. No Reds affiliate hasn’t won a league title since the Billings Mustangs won the Pioneer League title in 2014.
Below is a look at the most recent MiLB title for each organization. We will update this as the Double-A and Triple-A titles are settled. Over half of all orgs have won at least one MiLB title in the past two seasons.
Year | Each Team’s Most Recent Championship |
