LONG BEACH—The White Sox remained undefeated at the 2016 Area Code Games with a 3-1 win over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
Jake Taylor had the go-ahead double for the White Sox. Taylor said he knew the pitcher was going to try to “light up the gun” and was looking for something fast and straight.
As for the White Sox’s showing, Taylor credits “the teamwork and the bond,” as well as a practice before the showcase in which his teammates were able to work on their chemistry.
Jordon Adell continued his impressive performance, showing off his defensive range by throwing out a runner at third from right field. Adell called the throw a “do-or-die” play.
Kolby Somers of the Royals pitched three innings and had five strikeouts.
