White Sox Announce Area Code Tryout Dates
The Chicago White Sox, whose 2015 team consisted of All-Area Code Team players such as potential 2016 No. 1 overall pick Riley Pint (St. Thomas Aquinas High, Overland Park, Kan.) and catcher Cooper Johnson (Carmel Catholic High, Mundelein, Ill.), have announced their 2016 tryout schedule.
The Sox will be hosting the top players from the Midwest at their tryouts and final Area Code team. The top players will be invited to play in the six-day Area Code Baseball Games Aug. 6-10 at Blair Field in Long Beach, Calif.
The top underclass prospects from the Midwest who will be representing the White Sox will play in the Area Code Baseball Underclass Games Aug. 10-12. For the first time, the Sox will have two underclass team tryouts.
Chicago White Sox 2016 Area Code Games tryout dates:
Wednesday, June 15: at CHS Field, St. Paul, Minn., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday, June 20: Great Park, Westfield, Ind. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
*Tuesday, June 21: at Broken Arrow High School (Broken Arrow, Okla.), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday, June 28: at Triton College (River Grove, Ill.), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Underclass tryouts
Monday, June 27: at University of Illinois at Chicago (Chicago), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, June 29: at University of Illinois at Chicago, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
*Athletes must attend a preliminary camp before attending this tryout. No walkups will be allowed.
