United Shore Professional Baseball League Selects Blast Technology for Swing Analysis and Independent League Player Development
CARLSBAD, Calif.—United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL) has selected Blast Motion as the Official Sensor Technology, bringing professional-level swing analysis and player development to their Independent League.
The Blast Baseball sensor and Blast Connect will provide USPBL coaches with a better understanding of how a player’s swing changes between practice and game play, while tracking their performance through the season. Hitting metrics will be captured on the sensor during game play, then synchronized with the Blast Connect web platform post-game.
“USPBL was designed as an innovative developmental finishing school for players seeking to make it to the Majors,” said Andy Appleby, USPBL League Commissioner. “Our school provides state of the art coaching, musculoskeletal training, strength and conditioning programs, and the latest advances in sabermetrics. The Blast technology allows us to enhance our program through real-time swing analysis and in-game data capture, while helping players build development profiles used in major league scouting.”
Blast Baseball is the Official Bat Sensor Technology of Major League Baseball. The Blast sensor and mobile app will provide USPBL with the industry’s most accurate swing analysis as proven by an independent study by the Center for Human Performance. The Blast app has been specially designed to combine video and metrics to enhance swing analysis, allowing coaches to easily replay and review a player’s swings mechanics. USPBL will use the Blast sensor to capture player swing metrics for practice and in-game play. Blast Connect will be used to provide coaches and players with easy access to player swing data, performance history, trend analysis, feedback, and reporting.“The USPBL prides itself in utilizing technology and cutting-edge development programs to give their players the best chance to advance in their playing careers. For them to adopt Blast technology as one of those tools, is exciting to see,” said Justin Goltz, Baseball / Softball Channel Manager, Blast Motion. “Our partnerships with MLB and professional teams has allowed us to further optimize our Blast Baseball metrics, making a player’s Blast data highly desirable for scouting and development. USPBL has built an impressive developmental program, and we’re excited to play our part in helping them give their players the opportunity to grow and improve.”
