L.A. LAW
This is ostensibly the MLB Draft version of The Upper Deck, but we’d be remiss if we started without Aaron Judge. The Yankees rookie slugger belted his big league-best 22nd homer in a 5-3 win over the Angels.
HE’S NO. 2
Speaking of the draft, Hunter Greene got popped second overall by the Reds.
To celebrate #MLBDraft, I’m going to tweet videos of the prospects I’ve seen. Here’s @HunterGreene17 touching 97 mph https://t.co/xdPG8FfmbF

TRAPPED IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION
The famously placid Brendan McKay reacted the way you’d expect when he got drafted.
“It’s just a whirlwind of emotion,” Brendan McKay says, without a hint of emotion. pic.twitter.com/1slx5gz530

WORDS OF WISDOM
From 1997 fifth-round pick Michael Young, who went on to star with the Rangers in a 14-year career.
To my fellow under the radar, non 1st rounders…there is a place in the big leagues for you. Gotta earn everything. Go take it. #MLBDraft

UNCLE A-ROD
Alex Rodriguez’s nephew Joe Dunand, a shortstop at N.C. State, got drafted by the Marlins at No. 51.
DRAFT VIBES
Michael Mercado of Westview High in San Diego got picked No. 40 overall by the Rays and his family and friends had the proper response: elation.
PAT ON THE BACK
BA was bubblin’ with content Monday, as you’d expect. You can find all the content here, but most prominently we had scouting reports on the first round; the best players still on the board for day two; Kyle Glaser looked at where big leaguers at each position come from; We broke down the BA 500 by position; and John Manuel wrapped up day one.
