Top 100 Prospects: Chase DeLauter, OF, Guardians (45), Jac Caglianone, 1B, Royals (48)
Other Intriguing Prospects: The Royals’ system is rich with catching prospects, led by Top 100 prospect Blake Mitchell. Carter Jensen isn’t far behind. He opened the year at High-A, the resumption of his time there to close the 2023 season. He crushed the Midwest League in his second crack at the level, then produced a .780 OPS over 41 games at Double-A Northwest Arkansas. In all, he was one of just 11 minor leaguers 21 and younger who finished their years with 20 or more doubles, 15 or more home runs and 15 or more stolen bases … That group also includes Rangers outfielder Alejandro Osuna, who put forth one of the strongest seasons in the Texas system. His 18 home runs tied for third in the organization, which were split evenly between High-A Hickory and Double-A Frisco. He complemented the long balls with 24 doubles, 18 of which came after the bump to Double-A … Creed Willems’ 17 home runs were the fourth-most in the Orioles’ system, just one behind prized prospect Samuel Basallo. He’s one of just 13 minor leaguers with that many home runs in fewer than 100 games.
