Steele Hall Reclassifies To 2025 Class, Signs With Tennessee

Steele Hall, one of the top shortstops in the 2026 class, has reclassified to the 2025 class. A Tennessee commit, Hall finalized his reclassification this week and signed with the Volunteers yesterday on national signing day. The move could potentially get Hall, who is at Hewitt-Trussville High in Alabama, to campus one year earlier at Tennessee. The Volunteers have the No. 4 recruiting class in the country for 2025, but Hall should get plenty of draft attention as well.

At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Hall stands out for his premium athleticism, speed and defense. A 70 runner on the 20-80 scale, Hall made highlight plays at shortstop throughout the summer circuit with quick feet, smooth actions, good body control and range. He reads hops well, has advanced defensive instincts and can finish plays with an above-average arm. At the plate, Hall is a righthanded hitter with strong hands and good bat speed. He most recently stood out playing for the USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team last month at at the WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Fla., where he went 3-for-9 with a home run and drew seven walks.

Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class is now even stronger at shortstop with Hall and recent commits Billy Carlson and Ethan Moore joining Ty Thompson. Lefthander Cameron Appenzeller is one of the top pitchers in the 2025 class, while first baseman Evan Hankins and outfielder Taylor Tracey both have middle-of-the-lineup upside for Tennessee.
