SEE IT: Tanner Scott Brings The Heat
PEORIA, Ariz. — It’s no secret that it gets to be pretty toasty in the Arizona Fall League. Temperatures during the first week of the season have routinely climbed into the mid-90s during the afternoon games. Those numbers feel amplified at certain stadiums, including Peoria’s home ballpark.
Orioles lefty Tanner Scott brought a different kind of heat to Peoria on Saturday, when he parked his fastball between 97-100 mph for the duration of his two-inning outing against the Javelinas.
Scott dazzled in the Futures Game this year and made his debut late in the season with Baltimore. Scott still has command issues to iron out, but when he’s right he’s nearly unhittable. Although he was used as a starter this season, the Orioles envision Scott as a weapon out of their bullpen.
