The latest edition of the Arizona Fall League is just days away, with opening day scheduled for October 7.
On Wednesday, the league gave fans their first look at the league’s initial rosters, which feature 13 of Baseball America’s Top 100 prospects. The group is led by Mariners shortstop Colt Emerson, who ranks No. 11 on the current iteration of the list.

Top 100 Prospects: None
Other Intriguing Prospects: Among relievers, it’s hard to beat the season put together by Diamondbacks righthander Kyle Amendt. Despite running into some resistance in the Pacific Coast League—where the automatic ball-strike system and multiple offensive oases give fits to all pitchers—Amendt finished the year with 75 strikeouts in 44 innings across three levels. His mix isn’t overpowering—his fastball tops out at around 92 mph—but he logged miss rates of better than 35% on three of his offerings … Though Spencer Jones gets most of the credit as the resident big bopper in the Yankees’ system, there are a couple of other players in the system who hit the ball even harder. Outfielder Garrett Martin and catcher Rafael Flores boast the top two 90th percentile exit velocities in the system—Flores at 108.1 mph and Martin at 107.7 mph—meaning both could provide the Salt River lineup with big-time jolts of power. If Flores can show improvement behind the dish, his prospect stock will jump … Rockies righthander Gabriel Hughes was the 10th overall pick in 2022 and had struck out 83 hitters in 66 innings in 2023 before he suffered a torn elbow ligament which required Tommy John surgery.
