As a high schooler, Ryan Ripken wasn’t dissimilar to most other standout high school athletes,
carrying a passion for baseball and dreams of reaching the next level. Unlike most high school
athletes, as the son of MLB Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr., the younger Ripken carried the weight
of legacy and expectation on his shoulders.
