Rockies’ Forrest Wall Out For Season With Shoulder Injury
Rockies No. 15 prospect Forrest Wall, in the midst of his best offensive season since his pro debut in 2014, is out for the season after dislocating his left (non-throwing) shoulder, a source confirmed to Baseball America.
Wall, playing for high Class A Lancaster, was hurt on May 2 in a game at Inland Empire (Angels) making a diving catch. Wall went on the disabled list and then decided to have surgery.
Wall, 21, had surgery for a torn labrum in his right shoulder his junior year in high school. He led the California League with 32 errors a year ago while playing second base and has largely played center field this season.
Wall was considered one of the best prep hitters in the 2014 draft class. He was hitting .299/.361/.471 this season after posting a .684 OPS a year ago at high Class A Modesto.
