RiverDogs Turn “175,” Announce Alternate Logo To Celebrate
Fresh off of their Freitas Award win, the Charleston RiverDogs on Tuesday announced a new alternate logo to commemorate their 25th anniversary season.
Instead of celebrating 25 years, however, the team decided to calculate its age in dog years.
“We are grateful to be a part of a city with so much history,” RiverDogs president and general manager Dave Echols said. “While we may be Charleston’s youngest historic site, in dog years, we rank right there among some of the Lowcountry’s oldest institutions.”
The logo was designed by Studio Simon, which also produced the new logo for the Tampa Tarpons, the team one level above the RiverDogs in the Yankees’ farm system. Studio Simon also helmed the RiverDogs’ logo refresh before the 2015 season.
The RiverDogs join Tampa, the Sacramento RiverCats, the Gwinnett Stripers and Birmingham Barons as teams who have announced new primary or alternate logos this offseason.
