Red Sox Announce Front Office Promotions
The Red Sox announced multiple promotions throughout their front office on Thursday, with many of the promoted individuals staying in the same effective roles but receiving new job titles.
One significant change was Frank Wren moving to senior vice president, player personnel. The former senior VP of baseball operations will now report directly to Dave Dombrowski. The Red Sox hired the former Braves and Orioles general manager in 2015 as a talent evaluator and baseball operations executive.
The Red Sox made two notable moves in their scouting department. Blair Henry was promoted to major league scout after spending the last 11 seasons as an amateur scout for the Red Sox (Northern California, 2006-09 and Midwest, 2010-16). Tim Huff was also hired as a major league scout. Huff served the last four seasons as a Special Assistant to the General Manager for the Angels.
