Prospect Report: Evan Carter Hits First Major League Home Run

Evan Carter, OF, Rangers – Carter went 2 for 4 with his first career home run in the Rangers’ 10-4 win over the Blue Jays. Carter led off the top of the third inning with a homer off Chris Bassitt that traveled 406 feet into the second level in right field for his first career blast. 

Gunnar Henderson, 3B, Orioles – Henderson went 3 for 5 with a home run and three runs scored to lead the Orioles to an 11-5 win over the Cardinals. Henderson’s home run was his 25th of the year, most among all rookies. 

Logan O’Hoppe, C, Angels – O’Hoppe went 3 for 5 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs to lead the Angels to an 8-5 win over the Mariners. O’Hoppe now has 10 home runs and 22 RBIs in only 35 games this season. 

Jordan Wicks, LHP, Cubs – Wicks pitched six innings with three hits and one run allowed, one walk and two strikeouts to help the Cubs pick up a 5-4 win over the Rockies. The 2021 first rounder took a no-decision and is 3-0, 1.99 in his first four career starts. 

Ken Waldichuk, LHP, Athletics – Waldichuk pitched six no-hit innings of relief with one walk and three strikeouts to pick up the win in the Athletics’ 4-0 in Astros. Waldichuk followed two scoreless innings from Mason Miller and moved to 3-7, 5.36 on the year.
