Prospect Report: Connor Phillips Earns First Career MLB Win

Connor Phillips, RHP, Reds – Phillips pitched seven innings with three hits and two runs allowed, one walk and seven strikeouts to lead the Reds to a 7-3 victory over the Twins and pick up his first career win. Fellow rookies Spencer Steer (3-for-4, 2B) and Will Benson (a three-run home run) helped provide the run support as the Reds moved into a tie for the third National League wild card spot.
Gunnar Henderson, 3B, Orioles – Henderson went 3 for 5 with a triple and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot to help lead the Orioles to a dramatic 8-7 win over the Astros. The preseason No. 1 overall prospect is now batting .331/.356/.627 in his last 32 games as he continues his surge toward the American League rookie of the year award.
Luis Campusano, C, Padres – Campusano went 3 for 5 with a three-run homer to help the Padres beat the Rockies 11-9. The 23-year-old has seized the Padres starting catcher job and is now batting .307 with an .831 OPS on the year.
