Perfect Game, Baseball America Join Forces to Help Grow the Game
MIAMI—Baseball America and Perfect Game are proud to announce a partnership to help grow the game of baseball at the youth level. The focus will be on the 14U, 13U, 12U and younger divisions, and will include multiplatform coverage in Baseball America, co-branded events, recognition programs and much more.
Headlining these initiatives, Baseball America and Perfect Game will work together to enhance youth baseball coverage and build awards programs that celebrate youth baseball players across the nation. Additionally, the companies will develop events that promote participation among the younger generation, with a special emphasis on expanding opportunity and access to the game.
Efforts to promote the game with youth will take many shapes, including a new “youth” vertical on BaseballAmerica.com featuring content from Perfect Game events and designed specifically to highlight the accomplishments of the nation’s exceptional young players plus players across the youth talent spectrum. The companies will also work together to build new national level youth events, along with special events offered at little or no charge to young kids throughout the country.
Echoing the heritage of Perfect Game’s “Create a Fan” program, the partnership’s goal is to establish positive and lasting baseball memories for our nation’s youth and providing opportunities for all children regardless of economic stature. In this vein, Perfect Game and Baseball America also plan to work closely with MLB programs like RBI, MLB Youth Academies, the Breakthrough Series and Play Ball, among others. The brands will also combine their efforts to benefit many children’s charities, including cancer aid and research, children’s hospitals, Autism and Club Foot awareness.
Jerry Ford, founder and president of Perfect Game said, “Since Allan Simpson founded Baseball America many years ago, it has become the written voice of professional and amateur baseball. We believe the new ownership of Baseball America will take it to another level. For us, this is a very exciting partnership with people that share our interest in growing the game at all levels, but specifically at the younger ages. I think people will be very surprised and impressed by what we will be able to accomplish working together.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Perfect Game,” said David Geaslen, president of Baseball America. “Baseball can play a key role in youth development, giving kids the confidence and skills they need to succeed. It’s important to focus on the grassroots. There’s nobody better to do that with than Perfect Game. Together we can reach tens of thousands of young kids, creating opportunities for them on and off the field and making a difference in their lives.”
