Netherlands Defends European Baseball Crown

Once again, the Netherlands stands at the pinnacle of European baseball.

The Dutch National Team defended its European Baseball Championship by going a perfect 9-0 in the tournament, including a 3-2 win over Spain in the championship game.

Yurendell DeCaster singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th in the deciding game. Loek Van Mil picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief. You can see the box score here.

This was Spain’s first-ever appearance in the European Baseball Championship championship game. For the Netherlands’ club, it is its 22nd Euro Baseball Championship.

Italy finished third and Germany finished fourth.
