Major League Baseball announced Monday that the start of the season has been pushed back in accordance with the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation that no gatherings of more than 50 people be held for eight weeks.
An eight-week delay would put the season on track to start May 11 at the earliest. MLB previously announced the season would be pushed back until at least April 9.
Minor League Baseball previously announced it was postponing the start of its season indefinitely. If it followed the CDC’s recommendation, it also would not start its season until May 11 at the earliest.
