MLB Investigating Addison Russell, Derek Norris Abuse Allegations
Major League Baseball will investigate domestic violence allegations made against Cubs shortstop Addison Russell, BA correspondent Gordon Wittenmyer reports.
Russell’s wife, Melisa, posted about their relationship on social media and a friend commented on her posts, writing “Hateful is cheating on your wife, mentally and physically abusing her. Melisa didn’t want that out but I’ll say it. He hit her…”
It is the second allegation of domestic abuse in as many days MLB has said it will investigate. The ex-fiancé of Rays catcher Derek Norris alleged on social media on Wednesday that Norris “put her in a choke hold”, among other physical acts, in an Oct. 2015 incident. BA correspondent Marc Topkin confirmed MLB is investigating.
