Righthander Rafael Dolis pitched at Triple-A Toledo in the Tigers system in 2015 and re-signed with the club in December as a minor league free agent. Detroit released the 28-year-old last week, however, so that he could sign with Hanshin of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.

Second baseman Angelo Gumbs, a 2010 second-round pick out of high school who signed for $750,000, topped out at high Class A Tampa in each of the past three seasons, but the four-time Yankees top 30 prospect hit just .208 in 678 at-bats in the Florida State League.
