Shortstop Keon Johnson, the No. 6 player in the 2026 class, has committed to Vanderbilt, adding another potential impact player to a formidable recruiting class for the Commodores.
Johnson, who is at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, Ga., is 6-foot-2, 195 pounds with strong hands and forearms, whipping the barrel through the zone with above-average bat speed. There’s significant strength projection still to come with Johnson, a righthanded hitter who hits from an open stance, loads with a leg kick and has shown good bat-to-ball skills in games with a chance to grow into big power. His athleticism and high baseball IQ are both evident in the field, where he reacts quickly off the bat, plays under control and has the arm strength to stay on the left side of the field.
Johnson is the latest big addition for Vanderbilt’s 2026 recruiting class, which now has two of the top 12 players for 2026 with Johnson and center fielder Noah Wilson. The Commodores have eight of the top 150 players overall for 2026, including an array of projectable arms led by right-hander Eli Herst and lefthander Sean Duncan.
