Top 100 Prospects: Colson Montgomery, SS, White Sox (38)
Other Interesting Prospects: Before suffering an injury, Dodgers prospect Zyhir Hope was one of the biggest up-arrow in the sport. The outfielder was one of two prospects acquired by Los Angeles in the deal that sent first baseman Michael Busch to Chicago. Hope has a plethora of skills on both sides of the ball, and when he returned in August, a month in which he hit .266/.410/.479 with five doubles and five home runs. … The White Sox’s farm system is on the rise, largely on the strength of its plethora of pitching prospects. Currently fronted by fireballing southpaw Noah Schultz, with a strong performance in the Fall League, Grant Taylor could place himself squarely in the middle of that group. The Louisiana State alum a wrecking ball at Low-A Kannapolis, where he struck out 25 and walked just one over 16 innings. The righthander works with a five-pitch mix that includes a four-seam fastball that peaked at 100 mph and a high-80s slider that garnered a miss rate of more than 50%. … Last year, Zach Maxwell was the Reds’ tour de force Fall League reliever. This year, that honor could be held by Luis Mey, a flamethrower whose four- and two-seam fastballs each eclipsed 100 mph this season. His two-seamer peaked at 103 mph. Mey finished the year with 63 strikeouts in 55 innings between High-A and Double-A. Without throwing more strikes—he walked 43 hitters—his full potential will remain potential.
