SEE THE FINAL COLLEGE BASEBALL RANKINGS FOR 2018
After winning the College World Series, Oregon State tops 2018’s final Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger.
Oregon State defeated Arkansas in the CWS finals, clinching the championship with a 5-0 victory in Game 3. The Beavers went 11-2 in the NCAA Tournament, sweeping through the Corvallis Regional and Super Regional, before going 6-2 in Omaha.
Oregon State returns to the top spot in the rankings for the first time since March, when it spent two weeks at No. 1. Arkansas finishes at No. 2, its best ranking of the season. Florida, which was No. 1 for 13 weeks this season, finishes the season ranked third, and North Carolina and Texas Tech round out the top five.
Five teams move into the rankings following the NCAA Tournament. Mississippi State leads the newcomers at No. 6 after reaching the final four of the CWS. Washington, which reached Omaha for the first time in program history, enters the Top 25 at No. 9. The Huskies are ranked in the Top 25 for the first time this season. South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Cal State Fullerton all join the Top 25 after winning regionals on the road.
Connecticut, Louisville, Missouri State, Southern Mississippi and UCLA drop out of the rankings.
The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with eight teams in the Top 25. The Atlantic Coast Conference follows with five representatives.
The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through the end of the season.
