After winning the College World Series, Mississippi tops 2022’s final Baseball America Top 25.

Ole Miss defeated Oklahoma to win the College World Series finals, clinching the championship with a 4-2 victory in Game 2. The Rebels went 10-1 in the NCAA Tournament, sweeping through the Coral Gables Regional, blanking Southern Mississippi in the Hattiesburg Super Regional and then going 5-1 in Omaha, beating Auburn, Arkansas and Oklahoma along the way.

The national championship is the first in program history for Ole Miss. Its previous best finish in the Top 25 was No. 3, which it did in 2014 in its last trip to Omaha.

In addition to this being Ole Miss’ highest ever finish in the Top 25, the same is also true for Notre Dame and Texas State.

Tennessee spent most of the regular season ranked No. 1 and held the top spot going into the NCAA Tournament. But Notre Dame upset the Volunteers in the Knoxville Super Regional, and they finish the year No. 7.
