College Top 25 (May 30)
After winning its first ever Southeastern Conference tournament championship, Texas A&M remains atop the Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger. As this is the final Top 25 of the regular season, the Aggies will hold the No. 1 ranking until the final poll of the year, which comes out after the completion of the College World Series.
Texas A&M is followed by Florida, the SEC Tournament runner-up. Miami, Mississippi State and Louisiana State round out the top five.
Two teams enter the rankings this week, with Ohio State, the Big Ten Conference Tournament champion, leading the way at No. 23. It is the Buckeyes’ highest ranking since the final 2003 poll. Dallas Baptist, the Missouri Valley Conference champion, also joins the rankings for the first time this year at No. 25.
Long Beach State and Rice fall out of the rankings.
The SEC leads all conferences with seven teams in the rankings, including four in the top five. The Atlantic Coast Conference has six teams in the Top 25.
The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records are through May 29 and do not include ties.
