College Top 25 (May 16)
After another 3-1 week, Florida remains atop the Baseball America Top 25 rankings, powered by Louisville Slugger.
Florida started its week with a victory Tuesday against South Florida to finish its midweek slate a perfect 14-0. The Gators went on to win their weekend series against Vanderbilt and improve to 43-9, setting a program record for regular-season victories in the process.
The top six teams remain the same this week, as Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Miami, Texas Tech and Mississippi again follow Florida. Louisville, Louisiana State and Virginia round out the top 10.
Four new teams join the Top 25 this week. Minnesota leads the new entrants at No. 21, followed by Coastal Carolina (22), Bryant (24) and Long Beach State (25). This is Bryant’s first-ever appearance in the rankings.
Falling out of the Top 25 are Washington, Arizona, UC Santa Barbara and Creighton. All four lost weekend series.
The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with seven teams in the rankings, including five in the top 10. The Atlantic Coast Conference has six teams in the Top 25.
The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records are through May 15 and do not include ties.
