The 2021 season was always looked at as a potential breakthrough season for the Eagles, in large part because Pelio, Morissette and Frelick were all going to be in their draft year, but as it turns out, that group will have also a solid core of veterans around them in the likes of fifth-year senior first baseman Jack Cunningham, fifth-year senior shortstop Brian Dempsey and fifth-year senior outfielder Dante Baldelli.

Complicating matters is that even if Boston College lives up to its immense potential in 2021, the challenge will be working through a deep ACC that could get 10 or 11 teams into the NCAA Tournament when it’s all said and done. The margin between teams that finish in the middle of the pack in the league and those that finish in 11th or 12th probably won’t be that big.

Among the topics discussed on this episode are:

  • How much Gambino and his team enjoyed being back on the practice field after the extended layoff
  • What has him most excited for the 2021 season
  • The trio of potential first-round picks in Pelio, Morissette and Frelick
  • The rapid facility improvement that BC has undergone in the last few years
  • The legacy of Pete Frates
