Florida remains atop the Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger, after a 3-1 week and its fourth straight Southeastern Conference series win of the year.
The Gators improved to 28-6 on the season and have the most wins in the country. Florida continues to lead the SEC and has now been ranked No. 1 for six weeks this season.
A series of upsets over the weekend led to a shakeup of the top five behind Florida. North Carolina State now holds sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference and rises to No. 2. It is the Wolfpack’s highest-ever ranking in the Top 25. Stanford, Arkansas and Mississippi round out the top five.
North Carolina and Texas this week rejoin the Top 25. The Tar Heels enter at No. 20 and the Longhorns rank 24th. Both were ranked in the Preseason Top 25 before falling out of the rankings last month.
Dropping out of the Top 25 this week are Central Florida and Louisville. Both teams losing weekends.
The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with nine teams in the Top 25. The Atlantic Coast Conference follows with five representatives.
The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through April 8 and do not include ties.
