Blue Jays Add Ben Cherington To Front Office
Ben Cherington, who stepped down as Red Sox general manager last August when Dave Dombrowski was hired as his boss, has been hired by the Blue Jays as vice president of baseball operations.
With the Red Sox, where he worked from 1999 until last August, Cherington was a key front office member of two titles under Theo Epstein and then the chief architect of another in 2013.
Cherington, 42, began his career as a scout with the Indians, working under current Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro. He spent this past spring teaching at Columbia University in New York.
