Taco Night | Fresno Grizzlies
Tacos and taco trucks are huge around the country, and Fresno, Calif., is no exception. So the Grizzlies front office decided to take baseball and tacos—an already popular combination—and turn it into something marketable. Thus, the Fresno Tacos were born.
The Grizzlies donned special jerseys and hats last August and coined the slogan: “This year, we are what we eat.” The team sold out Chukchansi Park’s 12,500 seats, and on top of that sold nearly 5,000 standing-room only seats for the one-night affair. Announced attendance for the game was 16,916. In advance of the event, the Fresno Bee reported that the Grizzlies sold $100,000 worth of jerseys and hats alone. Taco Night was such a success that they’re bringing it back again this year for every Tuesday home game, with a host of different jerseys.
