Tigers Call Up Jackson Jobe To The Majors

Deep in the hunt for a playoff spot, the Tigers pushed all their chips in on Monday, calling up top prospect Jackson Jobe. The third overall pick in the 2021 draft, Jobe pitched across three levels of the minors reaching Triple-A in mid-September. He threw a career-high 91.2 innings across 21 starts in 2024, posting a 2.36 ERA with 96 strikeouts to 45 walks. Jobe has shown some of the most impressive pure stuff in the minors mixing a mid-90s four-seam fastball, a low-80s sweeper, an upper-80s cutter and low-80s changeup. Jobe will mix all of his secondaries showing a significant ability to keep hitters off-balance with a variety of pitch shapes. Jobe provides the Tigers another talented arm in their quest for the playoffs.
