Rays’ Brody Hopkins Shuts Down Hudson Valley

In the opener of the South Atlantic League championship series, righthander Brody Hopkins held Hudson Valley to one hit and one run over five innings of work, and three Bowling Green relievers provided four hitless innings of work. Bowling Green took a 5-1 win that puts them one win away from a league title. Roc Riggio led off the game by homering off Hopkins. Hopkins quickly settled down as only one other batter would even reach second base against him. Hopkins struck out seven. Hopkins had allowed only one hit in his final regular season start as well, so he finished his season by allowing two hits in 11 innings over his final two starts of the year.
