Pirates Reportedly Land LHP Ronaldys Jimenez From Padres

The Padres and Pirates linked on a small trade right before the deadline, as San Diego acquired LHP Martin Perez in exchange for LHP prospect Ronaldys Jimenez, according to Francys Romero. Jimenez signed with the Padres in June of 2023 but did not make his pro debut until July 13 of this season. He’s a smaller lefthander who works with a fastball that sits around 93 mph and a slider that comes in around 83 mph. He’s pitched three career games and has struck out eight hitters in six innings in the Dominican Summer League.
