Nick Kurtz Added To Arizona Fall League Roster

The A’s sent 2024 first-round pick Nick Kurtz to the Arizona Fall League on Friday. He’ll join their Mesa Solar Sox contingent and is now the second 2024 first-rounder in the league alongside Royals prospect Jac Caglianone (Surprise). Kurtz displayed an advanced bat in his injury-shortened pro debut. As far as skills go, Kurtz had an argument as one of the most well-rounded hitters in the 2024 draft class, but he’s been limited by persistent injury concerns. After going 14-38 with seven extra-base hits and 12 walks to 10 strikeouts over his 12-game sample in his pro debut, anticipate lots of loud contact off the bat of Kurtz in his AFL tenure. Kurtz remains on an accelerated track to the major leagues and could debut in 2025.
