Mets Promote Ryan Clifford To Double-A
Just two full-season minor league parks see fewer runs scored than High-A Brooklyn. On top of that, Maimonides Park is notoriously tough on lefthanded power hitters. Ryan Clifford has played half his games in these conditions since the 2023 trade deadline deal brought him to the Mets. Now he moves to a more neutral home park with his promotion to Double-A Binghamton. This season, Clifford drew 32 walks in 31 games for Brooklyn, a total that tied for the overall minor league lead. But the 20-year-old first baseman/corner outfielder hit just .216 with one home run. The Mets will get a better sense how Clifford’s Three True Outcomes profile plays in the Eastern League.
