Mason Barnett Bowls Over The Competition

After an impressive beginning to the season, Mason Barnett was one of the prospects the Royals used to help bolster their club at the deadline. He was sent to Oakland as part of the package that brought Lucas Erceg to Kansas City. On Thursday, he posted one of his best starts of the year. Facing Tulsa, Barnett spun seven innings of five-hit shutout ball. He struck out 10 and walked nobody. The outing was his longest of the season, tied a season high for strikeouts and was his first start since June 6 without a walk.
