Ky Bush Makes MLB Debut In White Sox Loss

There aren’t many bright spots right now for the White Sox. They lost their 21st consecutive game last night, tying an American League record. But Ky Bush offered at least a glimmer for fans looking toward the future, even if Chicago’s No. 6 prospect took the loss in his big league debut, allowing three runs over four innings. Bush struggled with his command and walked five batters compared to just three strikeouts. The 24-year-old lefthander has been quite solid in the upper minors this year, pitching to a 2.89 ERA with 94 strikeouts across 99.2 innings. He mostly relied on his 92-93 mph fastball and 83 mph slider Monday, sprinkling in his 87 mph changeup against righties. The White Sox acquired Bush from the Angels last season alongside Edgar Quero in the Lucas Giolito trade.
