Jang Opens ACL Finals In Style

The Arizona Complex League finals kicked off Sunday evening and Dodgers 20-year-old righty Hyun-Seok Jang started the series with aplomb in an 8-1 win over the ACL D-backs. Jang tossed three scoreless innings, striking out eight batters to just one walk while allowing no hits. Jang struck out the side to open the game on just 10 pitches. Jang’s mid-90s fastball has topped out at 98 this year and his also mixes in a mid-80s bullet slider and a firmer upper-80s splitter with video game-like swing and miss rates so far this year. Baseball America’s Josh Norris had a great primer for the Complex League postseason on Friday.
