Jacob Wilson Notches First Big League Walkoff

Oakland’s top prospect delivered Tuesday night in very Jacob Wilson fashion, ripping a first-pitch slider back up the middle to score Zack Gelof and walk off the Rangers in a 5-4 A’s win. Now healthy over the final month of the season after missing time with a hamstring injury, Wilson has settled into a Oakland’s starting shortstop role. MLB’s No. 15 prospect has yet to hit for much impact, slashing .231/.291/.308 through 24 games, but has notched a hit in each of his last three games as he looks to end 2024–and send off A’s fans in Oakland one final time–on a high note.
