George Lombard Leads The Way For Tampa

Yankees 2023 first-rounder George Lombard Jr. was one of the many prospects who caught the eye of evaluators during spring training. He’s started his first full professional season on a somewhat uneven note, but on Thursday he put together an excellent performance. Facing Jupiter, Lombard went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, helping his Tarpons club down the Hammerheads. He’d been in a particular funk all month long, and his four hits on Thursday were one more than he’d had in the previous eight games combined.
