George Lombard Jr. Opens Playoff Series With A Bang

In the regular season, Yankees 2023 first-rounder George Lombard Jr. had 25 doubles in 110 games. After just one postseason game, he has three more. The shortstop helped his Hudson Valley squad to a series-opening victory by going 3-for-5 with a trio of two-baggers and three RBIs. Though it won’t count toward his official stats, the three doubles are a high-water mark for Lombard this season and the game was just the third all year with multiple doubles.
