Caden Dana Rocked In Second MLB Start

Angels righthander Caden Dana’s first MLB start was everything he could have hoped for. He worked six solid innings and got the win. His second start is one he’ll hope to forget. Dana gave up three home runs in just one inning of work. Marcus Semien led off the bottom of the first with a home run, and Nathaniel Lowe added a second home run two batters later that also scored Josh Smith (who had doubled). Dana gave up a third home run (to Ezequiel Duran) as well as an RBI single to Semien in the second inning. He left with the bases loaded and no outs, but Ryan Zeferjahn’s excellent work kept him from allowing any more runs. In total, Dana gave up seven hits, five runs and one walk in one inning while striking out one. He got just three swings and misses in 43 pitches. These kind of growing pains aren’t all that shocking for a 20-year-old pitcher whose already made it to the majors.
