Brewers’ Chad Patrick Dominates Again

Chad Patrick was traded twice in the span of six months last year, as he went from the D-backs to the A’s in the July 31, 2023 Jace Peterson deal, and he was then sent to the Brewers in a deal for Abraham Toro last November. As has been the case with a number of pitchers, the Brewers seemed to have figured out how to unlock a new level of performance from Patrick. Pitching for Triple-A Nashville, Patrick held Memphis to three hits in six scoreless innings on Sunday. He walked no one and struck out 12, which tied his season’s best. He lowered his ERA to 2.95. Patrick doesn’t blow hitters away with velocity, but he sits at 92 mph and throws the kitchen sink at them, mixing four-seamers, sinkers, changeups, cutters and sliders. He also throws an above-average amount of strikes with a 65% strike percentage for the season and a 73% strike percentage on Sunday.
