Blue Jays’ Arjun Nimmala Hits 17th Home Run

Blue Jays’ Low-A Dunedin shortstop Arjun Nimmala’s continues to impress with his power. He hit his 16th Florida State League home run on Sunday, bringing him into a tie for third most in the league. He also hit one in a brief demotion to the Rookie-level Florida Complex League for 17 homers overall. That’s the good news. The concern is that it comes with a lot of strikeouts. Nimmala struck out twice on Sunday. He’s striking out in 31.4% of his plate appearances this year, but he has shown some improvement in his contact rates over the past month.
