A’s Joe Boyle Dominates Rays

Whenever Joe Boyle has average MLB control, he can dominate. After struggling to find the strike zone for much of the year, Boyle is on an exceptional (for him) run of success at throwing strikes. The results are falling right in line. Boyle threw strikes with 63% of his pitches on Monday, walking three in six scoreless innings in a 3-0 win against the Rays. Boyle allowed just two hits while striking out six. He sat at 98-99 mph and touched 100.8 mph. Boyle has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his past eight starts between Triple-A Las Vegas and Oakland.
