Chicago Cubs
—No. 6 prospect Adbert Alzolay struggled in his first start of the season, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks in five innings while striking out four. The 25-year-old righthander averaged 92.9 mph on his fastball and induced eight swings and misses, five with his heater and three with his plus slider.
Chicago White Sox
—No. 4 prospect Garrett Crochet made his second appearance in the team’s win over the Mariners. The 21-year-old lefty averaged 96.1 mph on his fastball and got two swings and misses with the 80-grade pitch. Crochet struck out two and allowed a walk and a hit in an inning of work.
—No. 29 prospect Zack Collins crushed his first homer of the season off the bat at 98.8 mph. In addition to his three-run shot, Collins also let loose on a double that left the bat at 103.4 mph. The 26-year-old catcher has three hits in 12 at-bats thus far.
Cincinnati Reds
—No. 3 prospect Jonathan India collected three hits in four at-bats in the team’s win against the Pirates. The 24-year-old second baseman/third baseman drove in four runs, tripled for the first time in his career and scored three times. India is 9-for-19 with seven RBIs and four runs.
Detroit Tigers
—No. 3 prospect Casey Mize struck out four batters in four innings of work, allowing a run on five hits and two walks in the team’s win over the Twins. The 23-year-old righthander averaged 96 mph on his fastball and got five swings and misses, including two with his fastball.
—No. 14 prospect Akil Baddoo entered the game as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and delivered the game-winning run on a single in the 10th to continue his impressive start to the season. Baddoo, one of 14 Rule 5 draftees to make an Opening Day roster, is 4-for-8 with two home runs and six RBIs.
Miami Marlins
—No. 4 prospect Jazz Chisholm plated one on his first double of the season in the team’s loss to the Cardinals. The 23-year-old middle infielder is 3-for-13 with an RBI and two stolen bases.
St. Louis Cardinals
—No. 1 prospect Dylan Carlson crushed a solo home run in the ninth inning off the bat at 102.1 mph to help give the Cardinals some insurance in their win over the Marlins. The 22-year-old outfielder has two hits, both home runs, in 15 at-bats.
Tampa Bay Rays
—No. 2 prospect Randy Arozarena crushed a single off the bat at 95.8 mph in the team’s win over the Red Sox. The 2020 ALCS MVP is off to a strong start to the season, with five hits in 16 at-bats and a run scored.
Texas Rangers
—No. 4 prospect Dane Dunning earned the win in his first start of the season, striking out six batters in five innings while allowing a run on three hits. The 26-year-old righthander induced 10 swings and misses, including six with his sinker and two each with his slider and changeup.
