Augie Garrido Honored With Tony Gwynn Award

Texas head coach Augie Garrido retired this year at the age of 76 and did so as the sport’s all-time biggest winner.
In a remarkable 48 seasons, Garrido went 1,975-952-9 as the boss of San Francisco State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Illinois and Texas.
He won five College World Series championships. He also played in the CWS for Fresno State, making him one of just 11 men to reach Omaha as a player and a coach.
