Arizona Fall League Prospect Report: James Triantos Goes Deep In The Desert

James Triantos, 2B, Cubs: We’ve written at length in this space about Triantos. Specifically, we’ve talked about his outburst of triples in the first (nearly) four weeks of the Fall League. On Thursday, he decided he wanted to take his time going around the bases, so he hit his third home run of the fall. The blast was a bit of Chicago-on-Chicago crime, seeing as it came off of White Sox farmhand Josimar Cousin.
Jakob Marsee, OF, Padres: The Marvelous Mr. Marsee continued his awesome autumn with another stellar showing on Thursday. Facing Surprise, the Central Michigan product went 2-for-4 with his third longball of the fall. This time, though, his blast came off a pitcher with a bit more bona fides than one normally seen in the league. Royals lefty Daniel Lynch joined the Saguaros’ roster recently and made his first rotation turn on Thursday against Peoria. Marsee’s blast was the only run he allowed over four innings.
Emiliano Teodo, RHP, Rangers: In their song “One,” Three Dog Night claimed two was the loneliest number. Teodo disagrees. By trading four seams for two, the Rangers righthander has significantly changed his fortunes. The fireballing reliever has been splendiferous in the Fall League, an adjective reinforced by yet another dominant performance on Thursday. Teodo closed Surprise’s win with a scoreless inning with two punchouts. For the Fall, he’s now thrown eight shutout innings with two hits, a walk and 16 strikeouts.
