The Kansas City Monarchs have a chance to celebrate tonight as they host the Chicago Dogs in Game 4 of the best-of-five Miles Wolff Cup. And you can watch the game here at Baseball America (see below).
Jan Hernandez’s three-run home run led the Monarchs to a 9-6 Game Three win.
The Monarchs had evened the American Association championship series at one game apiece with an 8-4 win over the Chicago Dogs in Game Two of the best-of-five Miles Wolff Cup, thanks to another Hernandez home run. Starter Zac Grotz and relievers Brandon Finnegan and Patrick Weigel largely shut down the Dogs lineup.
The Chicago Dogs had won a wild Game 1 of the American Association championship series as Cody Bohanek’s RBI single in the bottom of the 16th inning gave Chicago a 3-2 win over Kansas City.
The Miles Wolff Cup will continue today with Game 4 of the championship series, beginning at 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET. Baseball America will stream the game here.
The Dogs are coached by Butch Hobson. They topped the Milwaukee Milkmen in the East Division Championship series to advance to the finals. The Dogs, who were founded in 2018, are looking for their first Wolff Cup title.
The Monarchs are coached by Joe Calfapietra. The Monarchs topped the Sioux City Explorers in the West Division finals. The Monarchs last won the Wolff Cup in 2021. They also won the title in 2018 when they were known as the Kansas City T-Bones.
